Our Board brings together five of the most senior and well-qualified people in the Jersey business sector to ensure the good governance and high standards of the Jersey Good Business Charter.
Board members responsibilities include;
- Ultimately responsible for the Jersey Good Business Charter.
- Directors of the Company Limited by Guarantee.
- Decide which charities / causes to distribute surpluses to.
- Oversee the administrator.
- Approve budgets and amends to the standard.
- Serve without remuneration.
Our Board Members
Chair of the Board
Until 31 March 2018 Brendan was an audit partner within the PricewaterhouseCoopers Channel Islands financial services group and acted as senior partner (CEO) for the CI firm from January 2013 to December 2017. Between 2007 and 2012 Brendan was Global Investment Management Private Equity leader for the PwC Network.
Dr. Eve Poole
Academic Advisor to the Board
Dr. Eve Poole has a BA from Durham, An MBA from Edinburgh, and a PHD in theology and capitalism from Cambridge. Her recent book Leadersmithing was highly commended in the 2018 Business Books Awards.
She was recently appointed the Third Church Estates Commissioner for the Church Commissioners for England, and is Chairman of the Board of Governors at Gordonstoun.
Ann Marie Vibert
Ann Marie Vibert is Managing Director and Head of Banking and Custody Solutions for British Isles, for RBC Wealth Management’s international business.
Based in Jersey, she has overall responsibility for the delivery of treasury, custody and deposit taking activities.
Prior to joining RBC in 2014, Ann Marie enjoyed a 30 year career with Standard Chartered where she held a number of senior roles including Head of Client Service, Europe and Head of Client Infrastructure, Europe and Americas and was a member of the Channel Islands management committee.
Ann Marie is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (“CISI”) and holds the CISI Investment Advice Diploma. Her key areas of expertise include business transformation, client experience and strategic development.
Dr. Gunther Thumann
Dr Gunther Thumann is the Chairman of Jersey Finance. He graduated summa cum laude with a Ph.D. in economics and statistics from the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nurnberg and, between 1978 and 1994, was an economist in the German civil service and subsequently senior economist for the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C. Gunther’s previous roles include Managing Director of Saloman Bros in London and Chairman of Brevan Howard Capital Management in Jersey.
Dr. Andrew McLaughlin
DirectorDr. Andrew McLaughlin was formerly Director, Communications and Chief Economist for RBS. Before joining the bank, he spent three years in corporate finance advisory working with Ernst and Young. Andrew also spent several years working in academia before beginning his commercial career. He has a number of other advisory and non-exec roles including with The Prince’s Trust and was previously a regular commentator in UK print and broadcast media.
